Glass Castle. There is child neglect but I don’t think there is abuse. It’s based on the authors life. I’ve of my all time favorite books.
Edit: it does reference that one of the adults was sexually abused as a child

“Oral History” by Lee Smith – a story that takes you through multiple generations of a family in Appalachia, and draws on local history and folklore.
Many of Barbara Kingsolver’s books are set in Appalachia, my favorite of these is “Prodigal Summer.” Her new book, “Demon Copperhead,” is excellent, but child abuse is a prevalent theme, along with addiction and poverty.
