I know just what you mean, by Ellen Goodman and Kate O’Brien. it’s non, fiction, and it’s about women and how important friendship is to them.
I found it fascinating. it’s got tons of first hand accounts from different real life women, covering a wide range of outcomes and scenarios.

I haven’t read it yet, but I’ve heard wonderful things about Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

This past year I finally read *My Brilliant Friend* by Elena Ferrante (and the other three “Neopolitan Novels”) and they are very much about relationships/friendships.
I highly recommend them.
