    1. For several of these themes, The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. (And the sequel, Children of God, if you enjoy the first.) We got morality, oppression and slavery, genocide, human nature, and time travel.

      Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland.

      Edit: This covers essentially all the criteria you mentioned.

    3. *The Underground Railroad* by Colson Whitehead is focused on slavery and opression.

      *The Painted Bird* by Jerzy Kosiński deals with atrocities people are capable of commiting under extreme circumstances (WW2 in this case). It also comments on the neverending cycle of violence and opression. You’ll certainly find themes your looking for.

      *Lord of the Flies* by William Golding is a great classic novel with themes of human nature and morality and immorality.
