I’ve just finished WoTM, and I just wanted to say how much it seems Islington has improved as an author.

I personally loved his first trilogy, but I’ve seen a fair few criticisms of it. My belief is that with the series, Islington tried to run before he could walk.

With WoTM it seems Islington has perfected his pacing, character development, world building and magic system.

His first series tried to be injecting many clever magic systems, but alot of it got lost in the noise of them all, whereas WoTM just has one well thought out system which is easy to follow.

It felt like it took the best parts of many series and making them their own thing. And wow, what an ending! Say one thing for Islington, he can do endings. I am so excited for what comes next in this series.

Anyone have any theories? I personally think all the people killed in that giant massacre will just have been transported to one of those other worlds at the end. Also, who was the man in the Sapper in the first chapter?
