I’m looking for compelling mysteries that are appropriate for tweens, specifically a sensitive tween who would prefer to avoid scary/sad/highly emotional situations in books. Thanks!
I forget who wrote it but the Angela Marchmont books were fantastic

Wells and Wong series by Robin Stevens, officially called “Murder Most Unladylike” I think. Girl detectives who are students in an English boarding school in the 1930s. Unusually strong mystery plots for middle grade mysteries.
