    okay, i don’t know if this is the right place for this exactly, but i am looking for a book recommendation. my roommate and good friend’s birthday is coming up and he’s currently working to become a chef.

    i gifted him salt fat acid heat last year and he loves it and cherishes it a lot. now, he has read that one through (probably several times) and worked in the kitchen for a while, so he has the basics down. he also likes reading, occasionally, so i also pondered a book _about_ the culinary and restaurant world in general, not one with just recipes necessarily (we watched the bear recently and if domething like that in book form exists i’m sure he’d gobble that up).

    so, in short, i’m a little lost and undecided, but i’m looking for a book somehow connected to cooking or the gastronomy world for someone who already has some experience. could contain recipes, doesn’t have to.

    1. Cookbooks/ Informational books on the subject of food can be daunting especially when gifting. I have a ridiculous book collection and pulled a few ideas for you for now and even future gifts if you want. I always find myself revisiting these in some way or form.
