    1. Are you thinking picture books? My son loved the Miss Bindergarten books when he was young, also the Henry and Mudge series and Mr. Putter and Tabby. The Sweet Pickles books were also a favorite.

    2. Classic picture books I loved as a kid and still love as an adult reading to kids:

      * Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey
      * Click Clack Moo, Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin
      * Corduroy by Don Freeman

      More recent picture books I’ve enjoyed reading to kids (and the kids also enjoy)

      * Waiting is Not Easy by Mo Willems
      * The Rabbit Listened by Cori Doerfield
      * Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne Lang

      Kid-friendly chapter books suitable for reading a chapter or so each night at bedtime:

      * Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C Wrede
      * Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones

      What age level are we talking? I’m doing Magic Treehouse and Narnia with my daughters right now.
