I’m buying my mom (50s) some books for christmas, we tend to read very different types of books, so I would love some recommendations! She has read all of Jojo Moyes books ad loved them all. She does not like Lucinda Riley. The last book I recommended to her was Where the crawdads sing by Delia Owens, and she really liked it, she is open to different genres so would really appreciate any and all suggestions!

    1. My mum loves books by an author called Danielle Steel. I think most of her books are romance but I know a lot involve rich families facing a crisis, threatened by dark elements such as prison, fraud, blackmail and suicide. Plus there are plenty of books to choose from as I think she’s written over 100+ novels.

    2. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger. This had a similar feel to Where the Crawdads Sing.

    3. She may like Marion Keyes ? She gives me Jo jo moyes vibes in the way people speak to each other (Keyes is Irish I think)

Its a bit dated now but I like “Sushi for Beginners”

    4. She might like The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. An Australian woman inherits a house in Cornwall, the novel weaves together the stories of three women across different time periods that are connected by a mysterious abandoned garden in Cornwall. A little mystery, a little romance, and a very good story.

    5. The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy is great. I reread it after Where The Crawdads Sing as the setting reminded me so much of Conroy’s book. Lavyrle Spencer is a very good romance author. Morning Glory is one of her best books. All of her books worth reading actualy. The only book I didnt care for was November of the Heart. Irish Girls About Town is a series of short stories by authors such as Maeve Binchy and Marian Keyes. Its a really good collection. I re read it at least once a year. Marian Keyes is a great author. Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Cruisie and Rachel Gibson are a few favorite authors. Bet Me by Jennifer Cruisie is prob one of my favorite books. Welcome to Temptation is a close second. Lol.
