I’m looking for a book that has dark academia vibes, but is more grounded and at least somewhat realistic. I adore Secret History, Pnin, and Rules of Attraction. Looking for something to fill that void.
I enjoyed Fraternity immensely, but that’s about as fantastical as I’m seeking to go.
Thanks!
***edit****: thanks for the recommendations so far; I’m adding all the ones I haven’t read to my list. I think I was unclear, however, about what I meant by realistic and grounded. I’m presently seeking either no or a limited amount of magical or supernatural elements. (love them, but not right now). I mentioned Fraternity both because it deserves more love and, while it does have some paranormal elements, they’re not at all the focus, so that’s currently my fantasy/magic limit for the hyperspecific vibe I’m seeking. Thank you all!!*

I mean Stoner gives me the creeps, but that may not be what you’re looking for?
I think the ninth house is exactly what you are looking for, it is like Hogwarts but more like magical secret Yale societies. Also the second book in the series came out earlier this year so this duology is complete and it is very good.
