I just finished reading two Andy Weir novels, “The Martian” and “Project Hail Mary”. I enjoyed both of them. Can anyone recommend something in this genre?
Not at that level but Between a Rock and a Hard Place is a real life example. You may have heard of the movie 127 Hours based on that experience.

You want to read Neal Stephenson. Seveneves is not one of his best books, but is the one that fits this question best. Anathem is my favorite by him, but it does not get into much engineering until near the climax. Cryptonomicon does some solid explanations of real-world technology in the course of the novel.
