The ones where someone needs a date for Christmas or their mother keeps pestering them so they say they have a boyfriend and have to find someone to pretend to be their date. But obviously they end up falling in love. It’s one of my favorite tropes and I’ve only read a few, so I’d love suggestions!

(The only books I’m not really interested in are Mafia, war, sci-fi, and post apocalyptic. But I can’t imagine this trope being in those genres anyway)

    1. Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee is a wonderful fake date, rich guy/working class guy, Asian-American gay romance. It’s a fun rom-com with all the usual tropes, set around the Chinese mid-autumn festival.
