I enjoyed the book very much. Seemed the tinniest bit girly in the begining but not a big issue. Looking for something similar. Please keep in mind that I am an 18 year old Male.
Looking for Alaska is actually my favorite by John Green. I also really liked Paper Towns.

Do you like science?
The Martian is great.
World War Z and devolution are good max brooks books. I realize those don’t match the fault in our stars. I was thinking more 18 year old boy.

What did you like about it?
Are you looking for more contemporary novels that are about love and human connection? Because I have suggestions for days.
[It’s Kind of a Funny Story by: Ned Vizzini](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/248704)
Instead of the physical health aspect of The Fault in Our Stars there is a lot of mental health issues.
If you’re looking to move on from the YA books and into general adult novels the author Pat Conroy does a fantastic job at painting a picture rife with emotion. My favorites by him are [Beach Music](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16729) and [The Prince of Tides](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16735). My dad introduced me to this author when I was having a difficult time. His books are usually funny and moving at the same time.
If you want a book about family [This is Where I Leave You by: Jonathan Tropper](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6224935) is about a marriage on the rocks and the death of a patriarch.
One of the most beautiful books I ever read was [Never Let Me Go by: Kazuo Ishiguro](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6334) which is a coming of age novel taking place at a strange school in the English countryside.
If you’re looking for things that are less feeling and more “macho” you could always read [Fight Club by: Chuck Palahniuk](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5759)

You might like The Book Thief, I really enjoyed it when I read it for the first time around your age, it’s very moving. The first chapter is a bit slow (or I found it slow lol) but after that it really picks up 🙂

[The Perks of Being a Wallflower by: Stephen Chbosky](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22628) is definitely in the same vein. Short and sweet, not too girly.
