Hey y’all, I am a 20/m trying to look for a fantasy book that will get my sadness flowing. A book that has potentially no good resolute ending, or perhaps makes the reader cry from the situation at hand. I just have it in for dark, sad, almost sadistic elements in books. Thanks!

Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada
Feed, Deadline, Blackout, and Rise by Mira Grant.
Set in a post Zombie apocalypse world. Rise is a short story compilation set in the world, and The Day the Dead Came to Show and Tell, and The Last Stand of the California Brown Coats are two stories that destroyed me. As did the middle and end of Feed, and parts of all the rest.
Also: World War Z by Max Brooks. Also zombies. Also devastating.
The ending of Black Leopard, Red Wolf made me so upset I still can’t bring myself to read the sequel. Great book through.
