My daughter wants books for Christmas and I got some that are clearly a series, so I wanted to do a ‘blind date book a month’ for her and came up with the conundrum of do I gift her the entire series/trilogy in one month, one a month in order, or intersperse it through the year with other books/series?

I’m taking a chance with some of the book series since she has a very shifting mood/genre in books (teenagers 🙄) so it could be hit or miss depending on how she feels. Plus if I do the whole series in a month then some months would have more books than others and then I also need to go get more books to make up for the months I sacrifice by combining.

    Thoughts?

    1. I hate waiting for the next book. I vote Gift the whole series one month. Unless it’s 19 books or something. Then maybe split that into a couple months.

    2. How much does she typically read in a month? If she only reads about one book a month then do one. If she reads more than that then give her more.

Or maybe give her gift cards, or a subscription if she’s digital so she can choose her own? I stopped asking for books for gifts when I was a teenager because my mother would buy me ones I didn’t like and I didn’t want to seem ungrateful so I read a lot of stuff I hated or didn’t read and then lied that I enjoyed them.
