Hello everyone, I’m looking for something less than 300 pages. I’m just getting into reading again. You can recommend longer things too though, I’ll just slowly work my way up to those suggestions.

Books and authors I’ve read (or am reading) that I’ve liked: No Longer Human, Andrea Dworkin, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, The Little Prince

Non-book Format things I’ve loved as well: The Twilight Zone, The Thing on the Fourble Board (Story from the old radio horror show Quiet Please), Alfred Hitchcock’s works, and Studio Ghibli!

I’m open to all genres! Kind of looking for those books that really impact you. I loved no longer human bc I felt very seen as a neurodivergent person in some parts.

All Systems Red by Martha Wells

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan Mcguire

Walking to Alberaran by Adrian Tchaikovsky

One Day All This Will Be Yours by Adrian Tchaikovsky

    2. “A psalm for the wind built” by Becky Chambers. A bit of neurodivergence, inasmuch as robots don’t perceive the world as humans do. It is quite short.

“The muderbot diaries” by Martha Wells. Murderbot is entirely neurodivergent, and the first four books are effectively novellas.

Might try the Penric series by Lois McMaster Bujold. Well written very engaging series of short novellas.

      – The Setting Sun by Osamu Dazai

      – The Hurting Kind by Ada Limón

      – In a Lonely Place by Dorothy B. Hughes

I tried searching for books similar to some of the ones you mentioned. From what I can tell, these sound very emotionally charged.
