I read 22 books last year but stalled out at 8 this year. I’m about to finish House of Spirits by Isabel Allende and I’m definitely needing some quip and faster pace. What would you recommend? One of my favorite books is A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore, just for a point of reference on my humor.
    TIA!

    1. If you like sci-fi The Girl Who Could Move Shit With Her Mind by Jackson Ford is funny and fast-paced. I really like that series.

errbody needs to read and enjoy the comedic novels of Joe Keenan. the only one I’ve read is my lucky star, but Im confident enough to say read anything by him you can find.

imagine PG Wodehouse, in Hollywood, and unabashedly gay.

*Second-hand Souls* is a sequel to *A Dirty Job*. And the *Bloodsucking Fiends* trilogy ties in to *A Dirty Job*. Very sweet, fast-reading fun. Among Moore’s best. And, while I’m recommending Moore, if you haven’t already done so, you must read *Lamb*. A complete masterpiece.

The *Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy* series by Douglas Adams has *something* in common with Moore – or vice versa – and reads quite quickly too. From there, you’re a short step away from Robert Rankin and his books.

      Happy reading!
