    Hi all,

I used to be an avid reader, but haven’t found the time for the last few years. Used to have two on the go at a time, but haven’t kept an eye on new releases for many years.

My tastes have always been on the sci-fi/fantasy sides. Love end of the world stuff too.

Examples of some of my favourites:

    Day of the Triffids

Terry pratchett’s discworld series (predominantly the watch series, but have read almost all of them)

    Tau Zero

    The Hyperion Cantos

    The forever war

    The dark tower series

Just a small example but I Hope it illustrates my tastes!

Thank you for any suggestions. Really want something big to get my teeth into

    1. The Vorkosigan books, by Lois McMaster Bujold. 13 main titles and some novellas or short stories.

Any of Robin Hobb’s World of the Elderlings (all of them are in the same world, and there is a reading order of which series you should do first) but I particularly enjoyed the Liveship Traders and the Farseer Trilogy.

    2. The Red Rising series by Pierce Brown is really good. It starts off a little YA-ish, pretty clearly inspired by Hunger Games, at least in the first book. But it starts to evolve and becomes a pretty adult book, especially in the second triology/tetralogy, whatever it ends up being.

If you like Terry Pratchett and you still haven’t read Good Omens, that one is really good.

If you want comic book, popcorn super hero stuff, the Forging Hephaestus series by Drew Hayes is really good. So is The Super Powereds series. The thing with that one is that I believe is started off as a web series, so there’s really not central plot for a long time, and it when it comes together, it’s a bit of a letdown. Really fun characters that you’ll either really like, or be extremely annoyed by.

Don’t suppose you’d be interested in an RPGlit series? If so, I’d recommend The Primal Hunter by Zogarth. It’s about a socially awkward office worker, who gets thrown into a new world with his Co workers. A world based on choosing classes and levelling up.
I’m currently on book 3 and I’m thoroughly enjoying the series so far. I think there 8 books in total (so far).
