I was driving my local streets today when a cat ran out and under my car.
I stopped and a couple of neighbors helped me but the cat died from its head injuries very soon after the accident.
We called the number on the tag and found that the cat belonged to a little girl of maybe 7 years old.
She and her mother were overcome with grief.
I want to give her a book to help her process her sadness
Can anyone recommend a book about pet loss that might be helpful?

Oh my. That’s so tough for all involved. But thanks for doing the hard thing. It needed to be done. I wish I could help offer a suggestion.
I’d send her a copy of Coco. It’s bright and beautiful, has the message that our loved ones keep loving us as long as we remember them, and the afterlife is full of whimsical happy animals. My niece had the book, so I know it’s out there.
