I love Agatha Christie – very well written, often slow building but gripping, yet without excessive violence/sex/language. I can curl up by the fire with it and feel relaxed, yet very entertained. Anyone have a book or author suggestion that you feel is similar to this?

I always overlooked Georgette Heyer’s mysteries, but I read one of them a few years ago and now they’re on my thrift-store bolo list.
So many! Look up in Wikipedia – Golden Age of detective fiction [ circa 1920s-50s]
Most similar to Christie’s puzzle-based style are Ngaio Marsh and Georgette Heyer, and of course Allingham and Sayers.
