Hi, I am looking for a book for my small book club (a few friends around 30, all women).
We recently tried a book based on Norse mythology called The Goddess of Nothing At All and it was awful. I was hoping it would be similar to Circe, which I loved! I did recommend they read that, but we wanted something none of us had read for the meetings. Two of us are also into Brandon Sanderson, and we all have some interest in historical fiction and magic systems.
The book would preferably be fiction/fantasy with a female main character, for an adult audience, and around 300 pages. Bonus points if it is a stand alone/not part of a series. Lastly, I’d like something that makes for good conversation, whether that be some symbolism to dig into or ethics to debate kinda stuff.
I know that’s vague, but I thought I’d see what y’all thought! Thank you.
