I read ‘No Longer Human’ a little less than a year ago and didn’t pursue Dazai’s work further; however, I loved the book. Now, I’m reading ‘The Setting Sun’ and I’m also loving it. I really admire how profound Dazai tends to be, how well he is at storytelling, and the way he writes dialogue/ his writing style in general.
As for wanting an author “similar to him”, I don’t care if the other authors are also writing post/mid WW2 or anything. Just something like Dazai’s writing.

I don’t have a lot to offer here, except to thank you for this accidental recommendation. I often lurk on this site because when someone asks for a book like something they’ve read, it’s a pretty solid recommendation.
I’ve added a couple of Dazai’s books on Goodreads because they look excellent. The Goodreads blurbs on those two books made comparisons with Yasunari Kawabata and Yukio Mishima, so maybe you could look into them?
