Hello friends! I will be traveling almost 30 hours with my family over the upcoming holiday.

I’m looking for audiobook recommendations that my wife and I can listen to in the car with our 2-year-old and 5-year-old. The book need not be “for the kids”, but does need to be appropriate as my 5-year-old is a sponge.

    Thanks in advance!

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Or any of Terry Pratchett’s discworld novels. His Tiffany Aching series is a YA series that takes place in his discworld and is still enjoyable if you’re not a person who normally likes YA(I don’t). Funny, fun, witty, insightful, etc. The first two in the discworld series are good, but he shines much more later on and the books are written so you need not have read any other in the series.

The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo

The Assassanation of Brangwain Spurge (very comical but of course you’ll have to vet if it’s appropriate for your kid)

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester

      Coraline by Neil Gaiman

The Princess and the Goblin by George Macdonald

      Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

A Series Of Unfortunate Events series is kindof weird, but it’s full of vocab lessons, and don’t trust strangers lessons.

The Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings both have full cast radio plays for all of the books that are great for listening to. Narnia is only available on CD, so you have to buy a physical copy (the Audible book is not nearly as good as the “Radio Theatre” version).
