Suggest to me a book with The Chosen One trope. (That is not Harry Potter or Percy Jackson)
Chosen One stories are my favorite, I feel like I haven’t found stories like this since I was young. Suggest to me a book with the chosen one trope, can be YA-Adult, just something adventure filled please.:)
carry on by rainbow rowell is a great alternative to harry potter!!

{{Dune}} by Frank Herbert. The first and second arguably fit into this mould while the later ones expand the story.

The Belgariad series by David Eddings, starting with Pawn of Prophecy.

I’ve only seen the show but Wheel of Time seems to have that trope. Very good TV series… my father in law read the series and said it was great too.

I’m writing a series, but only published volume 1 of 4.

*Priory of the Orange Tree* (adult) does some interesting things with the chosen one archetype.
*Furyborn* (YA) is pretty good, it flips between two women hundreds of years apart.
*A Deadly Education* (YA) also has some chosen one vibes, I highly recommend that. It’s another response to Harry Potter. The first two books take place within the confines of a magical school in the middle of a nothing-filled void, and the only way out is to graduate by fighting through a sea of monsters.

So This is Ever After by F.T. Lukens. It’s a reluctant chosen one sort of story that gives some of the backstory of the “chosen one” quest, but mostly focuses on the “what’s next” part. I found it fun and an interesting take.

Wheel of time if you’re up for a series. Great story with incredible world building. You don’t know who the chosen one is at first (you can probably guess) but that is the primary driver of the whole story. I’m on book 5 of 14 now and probably will take a break at the end of this one just cause they’re quite long. 14 books and most are 800+ pages.

The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson – the first trilogy, at least.

The Pellinor series by Alison Croggon. They’re very Lord of the Rings flavored, so lots of adventure, a little romance but it’s not overwhelming. It starts with The Naming.

The Traveler’s Gate Trilogy by Will Wight. Magic is used by calling energy and creatures from other worlds called territories. People who can draw from their territories are called travelers. The first book in the series is House of Blades. There is a twist with the chosen one.

I think the book Enders game by Orson Scott Card would count. It is a series but I only read the first book. One of my all time favourite books.
