I’m wondering if anyone who has watched Murder in the Badlands can tell me what book the opening poem/spoken word is from? Not looking for a recommendation, just looking for the source.

Women fear the violence of men, and many experience it.
They have a terror of the badlands
Places that are lonely, abandoned, on the margins Places where they sense that harm has been done Where its seems that anguish is trapped
They hear the crack of a boot on branches sense a shadow in the doorway.
They imagine an unheard scream A violated body dumped without ceremony If they have to pass that way, they hurry Dread at their heels
Their fear is a kind of terrorism That somehow manages to thrive in our culture
For most women who are murdered they predator is a man they know even a man they love The setting is often the place that is meant to be the safest…….
Home…..
But then there are men who are hunters of women,
They groom,they stalk,they snatch,they kill
They know their way around the badlands.
They can map rutted tracks and follow paths so narrow and twisted they are known as rats tails.
And some women become their victims
The badlands.
