I haven’t read too many full on novels but the ones I’ve actually finished I loved. Really liked Brave New World and I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream (but that was a bit heavy lol), V for Vendetta (listened to it on yt but was the first book I went through twice).
One thing I really loved about Brave New World was just the sheer passion for life you could feel from John the Savage and the tragedy of how meaningless the world of the book was. Actually kinda changed my life in how I view things like purpose, meaning, self discipline, so anything like that would be greatly appreciated🙌
Some books I wanna check out that might help w recommendations:
The Road
Childhood’s End
No Country for Old Men (tried it in like 9th grade just couldn’t get into it but wanna revisit it. Not really sci fi or horror tho lol)
Necromancer (if I’m thinking of the right name where it’s like during the cultural revolution and it’s a sci fi book)
The Hunger Artist.
Thank you for any suggestions🙌🙌🙌💯🤰🏼

Idk if this is what you’re looking for, but maybe Jeff Vandermeer’s Southern Reach trilogy? Might be exactly what you’re looking for.
