I read a lot of sexy vampire books in my teens, but the problem is I only know of YA series. I want some slow-burn series’ with some more in depth… descriptions. Good character development and long-form series are a massive plus

Doesn’t necessarily have to be vampires, but definitely prefer the more humanoid supernatural shapes.

Previous series I’ve enjoyed are Vampire Academy, Morganville Vampires, and Night World, but they’re all very teen leaning.

    TIA

    1. Not sexy. Not teen. I wouldn’t consider it fantasy.

But the Joe Pitt series by Charlie Huston are definitely the best vampire books I’ve ever read. Already Dead is the first.

    2. The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant

I have no clue if he’s sexy but I plan on getting this soon.

    3. Wintersneeuw02 on

House of Night by PC and Kristen Cast

Age of Vampires by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

    4. Jacquelyne Frank is what you’re looking for. Romance novels in a series, about different types of men (a demon, vampire, maybe a werewolf??) and the women they find to make life complete. The first one is Jacob.

    5. If you’re into gay content try Lost Souls by Billy Martin (Written under his name pre-transition). A vampire impregnates a girl and fifteen years later his son runs away from home to track down a band he’s into and ends up travelling with his father and other members of his clan. There’s a lot of sex and it’s super gory.

    6. The Nathaniel Cade series by Christopher Farnsworth.
4 books: Blood Oath – The President’s Vampire – Red, White & Blood – Deep State

A vampire (Nathaniel Cade) is captured, tortured, then sworn & forced to serve the presidency due to an ancient blood oath. His job is to defend the country from paranormal threats & supernatural creations (unbeknownst to the general public), all while having to adjust to working with his new partner/handler; Zach Barrows. Zach is now exposed to a world of secrets & sights not many ever will see. It’s hidden politics meets paranormal doom, and everyone is in danger, especially the President!

    7. Some suggestions without bias for sexy level or plot. Not all of of these are vampires specifically.

      Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutchins

Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones

      Demonica series by Larissa Ione

Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole

Blackthorn series by Lyndsey J Pryor

      Protectors series by Teresa Gabelman

Immortal Guardians series by Dianne Duvall

Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian

Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti (there’s also another series with overlapping characters called Realm Enforcers)

Barbara Elsborg has several paranormal books

      Pyte/Sentinel series by RL Mathewson

Vampires in America series by D B Reynolds

Eternal Mates series by Felicity Heaton

      Fever series by Karen Moning

Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward

Kristy Cunning has a couple of series

The Kings series by Heather Killough Walden. She also has the Big Bad Wolf series which is sort of a prequel to The Kings

Both the Psy-Changling series and the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh

Dark Hunter series by Sherilynn Kenyon

      Sliver series by Kandi Vale

      Carpathians series by Christine Feehan

Guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy

These are what I can think of off the top of my head, smut level varies across all these suggestions and ‘good story’ or whether they’ll be helpful to you is very subjective and individual.

    8. This Case is Gonna Kill Me, by Phillipa Bornikova. A pulpy mystery series of 3 books about a lawyer working at a law firm run by vampires.

Bornikova is the pen name for author Melinda Snodgrass who is a legal professional turned screenwriter and author. She has written some incredible hours of TV.
