I’m looking for a history/science book. Usually I read fantasy (Poppy war and Percy Jackson), but I want to read some history book (Chinese, Roman, Greek history) or a science book (tech, space, life question, most things that aren’t biological) Any tips?

For science:
Life’s Edge by Carl Zimmer
A Phone of Our Own by Harry G Lang
Coal by Barbara Freese
Nothing immediately comes to mind for Greek, Roman, or Chinese histories.
If you have a higher reading level, you might peruse the [AUPresses Subject Area Grid](https://aupresses.org/resources/aupresses-subject-area-grid/) for topics you’re interested in reading about, then go to the university press website and check out their lists/catalogs. Many publish academic trade books, which are written by experts for a general audience.
