Hello.
# Next part is storytelling for why. If you want to know what I want immediately, then skip to the “-Want-” section down below.
**T**he last couple of days I’ve been re-immersing myself into the world of Re:Zero’s anime. It’s been wonderful, it’s one of those works which I, without hesitation, am ready to give a 9/10 rating.
A big part of why I enjoy the series so much, is the worldbuilding it does. Granted, that’s not the only thing I like about the show – but the way it introduces other-worldy (literally) concepts is done very well in my opinion, and at times it feels like rather than paying attention to the story – I am more so paying attention to how many of the magical and paranormal systems operate in the story’s world.
So, here’s what I want. It’s a long shot, but maybe someone knows something like this:
# -Want-
A fantasy theme, prefferably something medieval. (I specify this, because there are probably works telling about magic in the stone ages or something among those lines.)
Non-Story driven. I want a book that puts telling a story of a character second, and worldbuilding first. I forget the name, but there was an analogue version of the necronomicon but for magic. **I want a book that is formatted like some student’s/wizard’s studies into magic. (Oh! I remembered, a grimoire!)**
Prefferably for the book to explore both teachings of magic, and concepts in realms of said storytold world. Would “A magic encyclopedia” be a more fitting name for what I’m looking for?
**———-**
Either way, I don’t expect much to come of this post. Not because I have no faith in you, the reader and perhaps the suggester – but more so because of how specific what I want is.
Not that I find it hard to indulge in works telling stories of persons from worlds of beyond, I just have different mediums for that sort of thing. Hope you understand 🙂
That is it, thank you very much for your attention.
