I have long been obsessed with reading about that era and the lives of these super rich women. But as i get deeper into the book, i hate them all. I can’t even pity Babe, CZ, Gloria etc as products of their time/upbringing/ the patriarchy, i just think they’re all pos. And it’s so obvious gloria guinness was a nazi spy which is totally glossed over, ugh, hateful woman. And Truman… all the bon mots and smart remarks in the world can’t make me like this nasty little man. I think the book has had the opposite of its intended effect on me.
