I read “sputnik sweetheart” and Kafka on the shore and really enjoyed the style of both books. I preferred Kafka on the shore, specially the parts about the old man and the whole cat story line.
The only issue I have with Haruki’s books is I’m not really a fan how the books are randomly really horny I guess. I don’t mind that in books its just the way it is that I don’t really like. So I’m looking for someone that writes like him I guess and cover the same topics. I like “Osamu Dazai” so other than him suggest a way.

David Mitchell is often suggested to people who like Murakami (and vice versa). Try Cloud Atlas to start. Or The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet.
If you like the one you start with, you might read the rest in order of publication. He revisits concepts and characters, etc throughout his books (though they all work as standalones and can be read in any order)
