A Little Life. It’s really hard to even recommend because I re-read this one page over and over and just cried.
The Hearts Invisible furies but just because it was such a good story.

When I was a kid *Where the Red Fern Grows* made me sob.
As an adult, *House of the Spirits* and *the God of Small Things* both made me cry.
Certain non-fiction titles have made me cry also; *The Eleventh Day* & *102 Minutes*, both about 9/11; *The Hundred Years War on Palestine*; *Columbine* in particular also really messed me up. It’s very difficult to read about kids and gun violence, but I force myself. It keeps me motivated for being politically involved.

Three comrades by Erich Maria Remarque, read it 7 years ago and still one of the best books I’ve read.
