So, I embarked on a literary journey with a book called ‘The Four Winds’—or so I thought. I had seen everyone buzzing about ‘The Fourth Wing,’ and my curiosity got the better of me. Deciding to give it a shot, I hit up Libby for an available audiobook.
Little did I know, my memory wasn’t as sharp as I thought. Instead of soaring with dragons in some fantastical world, I found myself knee-deep in the Dust Bowl-era Texas of ‘The Four Winds.’ Dragons were replaced by the struggles of that time, but you know what? I was hooked!
A few hours into the story, I had a moment of realization – where are the dragons? A quick double-check of the title unveiled my mistake. Yet, by then, I was too captivated to hit pause. Surprisingly, I ended up loving the unexpected detour.

Anne of Green Gables. Because then I could find a bosom friend!
I went through a phase of reading all the classics. Eventually I decided to read Crime and Punishment. Somehow I mixed it up and ended up reading Pride and Prejudice. About 1/3 of the way through I was like, “I really like this story but I sure thought it was going to be a *lot* different!” I didn’t figure it out until a few months after I finished P&P, lol.
