It’s one of my favorite tropes in films, where the baddest thing around encounters the ACTUAL baddest thing around and is overwhelmed. To use an example that presumably everyone knows, John Wick. Scary gangsters fuck with the wrong man and suffer the consequences. Another extremely old one would be from Dusk til Dawn, where some scary gangsters fuck with Cheech Marin and suffer the consequences. Thriller, horror, sci-fi, whatever, I’m into that trope and I really can’t think of many books I’ve read that employ it as a main theme. Thank you!

Though it’s not the whole plot like John Wick, Martha Wells’ Murderbot books have a fair amount of that going on. Basically the protagonist is a security cyborg that can pass as human, but can fight in a way no human could (and has built-in weapons). Love these books, highly recommend.
