I don’t have a book for you, but my heart goes out to you.

I’m so very sorry for your loss.
Crying in H Mart. The author lost her mother to cancer. One of the best books I’ve read this year.

I am so sorry to hear this.
“Writers & Lovers” fits the bill. The main character’s wrestling with her mothers death is the propulsive force of the novel, although it is only directly discussed several times. Nonetheless it is a portrait of someone living with grief and confusion.
More directly “Don’t Take My Grief Away From Me” is a book I found comfort in after losing my father in law, grandmother and aunt within a few months. It is written from a Christian point of view, but I think helpful regardless of your faith perspective.

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion is about losing a husband, but it’s wonderful
A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Toews is partly about a mother’s desertion and is a great book
As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner falls into this category but transcends it
