There’s a book that Starship Troopers is based on, also called Starship Troopers. It’s apparently very different from the movie but does still involve a war against giant bugs.

‘Fahrenheit 451’ by Ray Bradbury is a classic dystopian novel I often suggest for its exploration of censorship and the power of literature. In a society where books are banned and ‘firemen’ burn any they find, Bradbury’s work is a reminder of the importance of knowledge and critical thinking.

The [Bel Dame Apocrypha series](https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/9359818) is set on an alien planet colonized with humans. Everything is terrible, there’s lots of gore and endless war and stuff, and the wildlife as well as the technology are all based on insects.

Not a novel, but a short story. [Bloodchild](https://www.baen.com/Chapters/9781625791191/9781625791191___1.htm) by Octavia E. Butler.
No gore, it’s YA, but there are giant cockroaches in Gregor the Overlander.
Worm by Wildbow. Extremely dystopian. Lots of gore. The protagonist has a superpower of controling insects.
Genesis echo by d. Hollis anderson – a dystopian sci fi novel with aliens that are giant insects
Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
