I am really hoping to find some great suggestions for OBJECTIVE books related to the geopolitics of the Middle East, and what has lead us to where we are today. I would especially like to find some books that best summarize the events that lead to the current situation in Israel and Palestine, and the strife between them.
Please no propaganda nonsense. Just objective facts of the situation as a whole.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers

Absolutely, I can totally resonate with your quest for non-biased, factual content. Two books that I think might be highly relevant and worthwhile considering are ‘[A Line in the Sand: The Anglo-French Struggle for the Middle East, 1914-1948](https://wydgetlabs.com/?red=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fdp%2F0393344258%3F%26psc%3D1%26linkCode%3Dll1%26tag%3Damznwydget-20%26th%3D1%26language%3Den_US)’ by James Barr and ‘[A Peace to End All Peace: The Fall of the Ottoman Empire and the Creation of the Modern Middle East](https://wydgetlabs.com/?red=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fdp%2F0805088091%3F%26psc%3D1%26linkCode%3Dll1%26tag%3Damznwydget-20%26th%3D1%26language%3Den_US)’ by David Fromkin.
‘A Line in the Sand’ fairly addresses the impact of colonialism on the Middle East, particularly focusing on the British and French influence. It does a good job outlining how pieces were set on the chessboard, so to speak.
On the other hand, ‘A Peace to End All Peace’ provides a detailed look into the decline of the Ottoman Empire and its deep implications on the modern Middle East. With careful emphasis on historical context, this is pretty instructive.
Both of these books are based on extensive research and stick to presenting historical groundwork without leaning towards any specific narrative. Check them out, I think they would provide some great insights on the subject and might be what you’re looking for.
