I am an avid reader since I was young. The problem with this, is now Iām bored with most books. I read 24+ books a year and I really want a stand-out. I used to be into psychological thrillers/crime but can now can predict the ending of most plot lines because of this š recently into emotional memoirs, but honestly open to anything! Thanks in advance!
Recent books I liked are:
– Crying in Hmart
– The Secret History
– Empire of the Summer Moon
– Kitchen Confidential
– The Beach
– Dune
– Normal People

– My Mess Is A Bit of A Life by Georgia Pritchett (memoir, made me laugh and cry)
– I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy (memoir, tw: ED, abuse)
– Yolk by Mary H. K. Choi (fiction, family issues, tw: ED)
– Amateur Marriage by Anne Tyler (fiction, relationship/family issues)
– We Are All Completely Beside Ourselvesby Karen Joy Fowler (fiction, family issues, has a big twist)
The last emotional memoir type book I read was actually a collection of poetry called āYou Better Be Lightningā by Andrea Gibson. Highly enjoyed it, it genuinely brought me to tears on the train.
