I’m starting a new sleep schedule including 15 minutes of reading before bed. I want something that isn’t a “just one more chapter!” plot but also isn’t totally boring that I won’t want to read it at all. No horror, religion, or true crime please!!
Collections of short (non thriller/horror) stories would be good or just lazy sleepy feeling plot books
A few I’ve read before bed to get a taste of what I like:
-Welcome to Night Vale
-Nothing Much Happens (a collection of short bedtime stories for adults)
-The Dali Lama’s Cat
-Some Faraway Place

A Gentleman in Moscow- A member of the Russian nobility is “exiled” to the hotel in which he currently resides. If he walks out the door, he can be shot on sight. It’s this odd “slice of life” story of a man that lives through a huge chunk of Soviet history, but can never leave the building. It was the perfect bedtime audiobook for me.
You might enjoy Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree. It’s a slice of life fantasy about an ogre opening a coffee shop.
