Lonely female leads who are more or less psychotic, insane, or disturbed. Ideally a book that describes loneliness in a way that shows deeper than normal understanding.
Already have a whole shelf i’ve read fitting this description but i need more. I just can’t get enough of books centered on crazy girls. The stories themselves don’t even have to be that great as long as the character has presence and it’s just entertaining enough to keep you reading.
I think i have an addiction. Please send help.

*Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine* is about a traumatized and lonely woman trying to get better.
*My Year of Rest and Relaxation* is about a seriously depressed rich girl who is arguably just getting worse, a lot of people absolutely hate the protag on reading.
Sayaka Murata has characters that may be seen as disturbed and lonely by the outside world, but for the protagonist herself she’s just doing okay and living a truthful life. if this seems interesting, check *Convenience Store Woman* or *Earthlings*

Kidding. Kinda.
The Vegetarian by Han Kang
Harley Quinn: Reckoning by Rachael Allen
*Bunny* by Mona Awad is a ride and pretty eff’d up. There is a creepy layer of “what’s going on here” through most of it. Very trippy and at the end it’s fun to try and figure out what it was that was actually happening. Not extreme as so much disturbing and bizarre.
