I really like the analog horror genre of YouTube videos and am fascinated by the absolute dread one can experience regarding skinwalkers or creatures that imitate humans. Are there any good horror novels out there that capture that feeling of something completely alien/unnatural trying to emulate humans/animals?

_The Twisted Ones_ by T. Kingfisher has a lot of this general vibe — like a lot of analog horror, it also has a plot that involves a horrific thing from the past reemerging in the present.
The Outsider- Stephen King
Darker Than You Think by Jack Williamson
“Skinwalkers” in white horror books are a recent ripoff of Native American culture. There aren’t going to be any good ones.
Heinlein, The Puppet Masters
Finney, The Body Snatchers (basis for the film Invasion Of…)
Dick, The Father-Thing is probably the creepiest if that’s what you’re looking for.
Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer.
