Sooo I’m turning 20 soon and personally I need book recommendations to start. I want to try reading more books that are kinda serious, deep and philosophical aura in it? Also more mature kinda books. I need to have something new to read as I’m a person that tends to read books that are very easy read which there is nothing wrong about!
I feel like I need to widen my taste for books as I get older! I can try reading any genre except horror cuz l’m a scaredy cat🫥 hope people can help me!

Can you share some examples of books you’ve enjoyed?
When I was your age, I broadened my reading horizon with **Catch-22, by Joseph Heller** (black comedy satire, set in WW2), **A Clockwork Orange, by Anthony Burgess** (short and dark), and **One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, by Ken Kesey**. Between these modern classics I also found time for, and really enjoyed, **Metro 2033, by Dmitry Glukhovsky** (very atmospheric post-apocalyptic tale. It’s longer than you’re looking for, but it’s exciting and hopefully very readable so as to pull you all the way to the end).
