I have two. The Ritual and Drowning.
The Ritual is pure smut. 61 chapters and every one contains a graphic, demeaning sex scene. I’m convinced the author was an adult film screenwriter and decided to try their hand at writing a novel. There isn’t a single likable character in this book.
Drowning isn’t a great work of literature. I felt that the characters were very two-dimensional. I hated how naive the author made the protagonist. It made me have a lack of sympathy for her. The ending was series finale of Dexter bad.

This isn’t an objective critique, but based purely off of my enjoyment- Never Let Me Go. It felt emotionless to me, and the writing, characters, and plot were completely plain.
I want to preface this by saying I haven’t read a single book I’d consider bad, and enjoyed the vast majority of them.
The master and Margarita just went straight over my head. There were parts I thought were good (I surprisingly really liked the Pontius Pilate sections) but otherwise it didn’t a whole lot for me
Drowning was by far the dumbest book I’ve ever read. When the one character is learning how to swim…in freezing cold ocean water…in a plane…under the sea…lol. Beyond moronic.
Lock every door by Riley sager. Ugh.
I haven’t read anything I didn’t like so it’s been a fairly good year in that regard. The book I maybe enjoyed less than the others is How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix. I really did enjoy the book, but I found the two main characters, who are brother and sister, to be mostly insufferable. So that lessened my overall enjoyment of it a bit.
I Have Some Questions For You was pretty underwhelming. It had a few very interesting features that had me thinking and reflecting, but the narrative arc really felt unsatisfying and the writing style was dry and dull.
Ugly love by Colleen. Had to DNF. Too bad. Don’t recommend.
