I absolutely hated reading as a kid. It was incredibly difficult and I didn’t have the attention span or interest. Then, as a late teen and into adulthood I became an avid reader. However I often feel like I kind of missed out on some good books. For example I just finished reading the Among the Hidden series by Haddix and it was so much fun! Clearly for a young audience, but still fun. But I don’t know what I don’t know, you know?
So I’m wondering what books you read as a kid or teen that stuck with you? Ones you remember fondly or maybe even revisit as an adult.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, read it when I was 9 and then again and again over the next few years.
I loved six of crows by Leigh bardugo! I also really liked all of Rick riordans books, like the red pyramid and the Percy Jackson series. Would also recommend the book thief, although it’s very sad, but beautifully written.
