-I must emphasize well written, we don’t need Shakespeare but I fall in love with stories that have well written dialogue and really immerse you in their world
-Really looking for New Adult material (aimed at early 20s and above)
-Bonus points if it’s Urban/Rural Fantasy, I LOVE me some modern world mixed with magic

    I love:
-Anything involving the Fair Folk/Sidhe/Fae, Celtic myths/folklore, pretty immortal magical beings (Yes, I have read the FoTA trilogy lol)

-Anything involving merfolk/people/sirens, the deep sea, the unknown, dark merfolk

-Anything involving gods/mythology (ESP Greek!!), well researched, the psychology of being an immortal, ultra powerful being

-Anything involving witches/witchcraft, ancient/powerful magic, dark magic, witches that don’t fit the stereotypical mold (different genders/backgrounds)

-Circus/traveling fair where the shows are so good, it’s almost like Magic (spoiler: it is actual magic)

Thank you so, so much, I am super excited to see your recs!

    1. Authors you should check out, any of their series are good and fit with your requirements:

Ilona Andrews (Kate Daniels for modern tech and magic, Inn Keeper Chronicles also modern tech and magic, especially Hidden Legacy for the romance)

Patricia Briggs, the Mercy Thompson books

Scarlett St. Clair, her Hades X Persephone books (sounds to me like you might already know this one?) but I personally enjoyed the books specifically about Hades, from Hades perspective.

Nalini Singh (Guild Hunter, PsyChangling, both deal occasionally with your power/immortal struggles in one way or another, and there is an ocean themes PC book.)

Tamsin Ley (Mates for Monsters series has a whole merman set)
