Recently I’ve been listening to audiobooks while I work. Blood Meridian got me started up again on it.

I’ve enjoyed Cormac McCarthy a lot. Blood Meridian, The Road, No Country For Old Men.

Haris Ellison’s, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

Various H.P. Lovecraft stories, but I especially enjoyed Call of Cthulhu, The Outsider and The Dunwich Horror. (Wanted to delve into these again for dnd purposes. I’m a Warlock in a pact with an Old One.)

I also listened to Valis by Phillip K Dick, but while I found it interesting, it never really grabbed me in the sense I was looking forward to finishing it. It was good, don’t get me wrong. Just didn’t hit right.

Based on what I’ve enjoyed in recent times, what do you recommend?

You might try “Jesus’ Son” by Denis Johnson – a short story collection.

Also, White Noise by Don DeLillo
